The Negev Development Authority is a lawfully corporation founded in 1991. The
roles of the Authority, as stated by the Law, are: to initiate, prepare
programs for encouragement of entrepreneurship and activities for
economic and social development of the Negev, coordinate between
government offices, authorities and bodies engaged in the development
of the Negev, initiate studies and provide information in all matters
linked to economic initiatives in the Negev. The official in charge of
the Negev Development Authority according to the Law is Mr. silvan shalom - negev galil Minister.
Authority's Board of Directors is comprised from the mayors of all
Negev councils, heads of government offices, representatives of the
ministers and the hospital, delegates of the Chamber of Commerce and
Association of Industrialists, 61 members in total.
The Chairman of the Negev Development Authority Directory is Mr. Shmuel Rifman, a member of kibbutz Revivim, current mayor of Ramat Negev Regional Council and the Chairman of Regional Councils in Israel.
The General Manager of the Negev Development Authority is Mr. Meir Sahar.
The Negev Development Authority makes every effort to achieve general
and innovative regional development, which leads the Negev toward a
status of national lodestone area.
